Morning links: just another case of the mondays
I really wish I wasn’t so swamped at work. It would be great to go-in on a couple of the stories below, but for now — just the links.
New pictures from the weekend to come tonight when I finally have a chance to work on this from home. Also, I’m starting a new long term art project with a handful of small one-offs along the way. I’ll be documenting my source...
Coldplay’s Strong Sales Buck Industry Trend
Recent article from NYTimes talking about the recent success of Coldplays latest Viva la Vida. Coldplay really went in a different direction with working the album and tying in a release through itunes. Could it be a strong format for other to follow? Well it really helps that the band has such a huge following but its probably a step in the right direction.

Internet Ad Spending to Overtake Radio in 2008
Bloomberg.com: Technology
Not a big suprise I guess. I feel like radio has become so awful it really makes more sense than anything else. I’m a but shocked that internet ad sales could pass magazine by 2010… I guess its time I push for more quality content online, maybe I can get some of those ad dollars.
Service From Google Gives Crucial Data to Ad... →
Interesting new service for anyone who has had to work near advertising. This will be great for smaller companies flying under the radar who will now benefit from Google helping them be found as ideal areas for advertising when searching for those target demos.
Check the original Google announcment here.
Also, check trends as a free user for any website you want here.

Read the entire entry at mediabistro, but check this quote:
“‘We must not allow television programs to become Trojan horses, carrying messages that would otherwise be criticized by the public or even deemed illegal,’ wrote the coalition, which includes Public Citizen and the Parents Television Council.’”

My money is on Loopt with all of the iphone integration. Is it too voyeuristic? Sure but look at celeb gossip coverage now, its only going to get worse.

Sodas of The Times: Root Beer
Check out the NYTimes audio tasting on Root Beer. I don’t know what it is about root beer, but its one of those drinks that sometimes I crave. The best root beer I ever had was from a vending machine at the WHUS radio station. The root beer came from a local soda from Hosmer. Damn, I miss Djing.
