Morning links

I had a great collection of links yesterday and for some reason the kept crashing the tumblr add a post tool. Finally the thing seems to be working again, so here are some stories from yesterday and today:

The Technology Behind Esquire’s Flashing Cover: New innovation in print technology? Write up on E-Paper, how it works, who could use it, and when we should start seeing it being used. It looks like Esquire will be one of the first to try it out with the cover of its October issue.

Frey Goes Arty: ‘The Idea Was To Do A Cool Book That Would Piss People Off’: James Frey and Terry Richardson team up for an art book. Two anti-artists together don’t always = success, but the hipster kids will love this.

Is Mobile Key for Facebook?
Mobile to me seems kind of like an obvious need for the social networks to really embrace. Communities like Loopt are trying to piggy-back on the iphone already, and it seems like the site to do this well will win over most users.

A Secret Society of 30 Million
Editorial on the growing # of social networks. I’m getting really sick of signing up for these communities. The smaller ones seem like such a waste of time. Like I said above, the one that gets mobile right will win.

Gillian’s Still a Bit Spacey
Drew sent this over. Its an interview with the chick from X-Files. I never watched the show, but this woman seems way out of it.

Sauteed Pigeon Your Answer to Recession Sustenance?
I have a weird obsession with Pigeons right now and I’m planning on starting out a new Pigeon related art project, but I don’t think I’ll be eating them anytime soon. Related: Pigeons: The Next Step in Local Eating (No, Really)

TiVo and Amazon Team Up
I love when good brands team up to provide better products. These type of partnerships make the product better and mor rewarding for the user to purchase. Figure out a way for the next gen Kindle to play video and tap into my Tivo list and I would be even more on board to buy a Tivo.
