Type/design nerds could spend hours lost on this website. A collection of type inspired work varying in styles and execution. I signed up for the sites newsletter and its a good thing they don’t sell these posters–I have enough outlets begging me to run up my credit daily, although I’m sure if you want you could find outlets for purchase.

Nixon Newton Watch

New ‘design first’ watch from the Nixon team. As a brand, Newton has done some fantastic accessory work. Their old wood panelled watch, the rotolog always had an appealing quality to it that reminded me quite a bit of my first apartment in college. In addition to great watches, this year the team introduced an excellent line of headphones as well.

Back to the Newton. Priced at $100 and available currently in 4 colors. The band is a custom injected silicone that reminds me a bit of my favorite, the Nooka line. It looks a bit like something you would want to see in person. Some of the pictures on the site look to have a questionable quality level, but with a watch like this its more about the ‘what the F is that factor’ then it becoming a family heirloom.

Yanko Design concept : Zero.1 Vinyl/CD Player

This is the best ‘most likely to fail’ item I’ve ever seen. A combined CD and Record player concept that uses a system to read the gaps on the record so you can ‘next’ from track to track without having to lift and drop the players arm. The concept also incorporates a Terabyte hard drive for ripping files.

Interesting concept, and the only company I could see making this work is Bose. I always though their old school radios were ugly and worthless, despite amazingly clear soung–and this was years ago. Some how, they continued to sell and made the brand a house hold name with its infomercial product. Eventually moving on to CD players, changers and now ipod docks, maybe its time to go back to some classic formats.

Hard Graft Wallet

I’ve been on the hunt for a new wallet for a while now. Not sure if this is the one, but I’m kind into it. My big worry would be how long the felt would hold up. Either way, add it to the list of possible choices with the the Surface2Air and Maxx & Unicorn wallets.

Also, when will Hard Graft have their checkout working? Knowing how much the shipping would cost would help me make a decision.

I might have to pick up Vibe again, its been a couple years since I bought any hip hop magazine, the closest thing being Complex.
