CMJ KICKOFF & DINNER PARTY
featuring
KEYS N KRATES, MICHNA, NICK HOOK, MIKE SLOTT & MORE
DOORS at 8PM | FOOD OUT BACK ‘til 11 | NUBLU.NET
Sunday night, you’re sitting at a cash only bar next to Michel Gondry, drinking a mojito to solo steel guitar.
Wednesday, Bebel Gilberto makes a cameo during a sweaty Brazilian dance party.
Saturday, underground techno pioneers rock ‘til the line is out the door and two people know who the DJs are.
This place is called Nublu, the one room in the city we are totally comfortable putting our inexplicable left-field live music fancies. The future music outpost tucked away on Avenue C has garnered press from New York Magazine to Paper Magazine as a staple to music culture in what’s left of New York.
We are fortunate enough to throw parties in this place.
BBQ’s with beats, hors d’oeuvres and vinyl, dub versions and drinks.
This is where we kick off our CMJ with a stellar lineup that we try to encapsulate what CMJ should be about. Join us TOMORROW NIGHT starting at 9PM.

Onitsuka Tiger and URB bring you another CMJ party
at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker St) on Friday at 10 PM.
Giveaways and a 1 hour open bar. Free with a badge and RSVP, but RSVP anyway, they usually let everyone in.
This show is probably the one for Tuesday. I’m torn because I would love to check out the show at DROM or the Mixtape Awards party, but I haven’t seen Wale perform live yet…

sounds great…I’ll have to check this out tonight.
Tonight - fantastic event. Confirmed yesterday for the N.E.R.D. hosted Smirnoff Experience.
Lineup includes NAS, Dizee Rascal, Spank Rock, and Devlin&Darko (dj set) with special guest Grandmaster Flash.
The event is from 9-1 (I’m gonna be beat at work tomorrow) and taking place at Capitale. Haven’t been to this venue before so looking forward to that, and can’t wait to who else might show up.
This is looking like a good party. Check out Photographer Ricky Powell’s Streeet Photography * NYC. The event takes place at Sugar Head Quarters, located 174 Rivington St, with an after party at Beauty Bar.
This right here is a questionable party to attend. Its at a great venue, but I know nothing about this artist, only that his father ran the heroin trade of Harlem and recently had movies and albums based on his life. The American Gangster’s son, Frank Lucas Jr, is having a single release party tonight at Plumm with free Patron. A number celebs are “expected” to attend including Wyclef Jean, Vince Carter, Terrance Howard, Fabolous, Q Tip and more.
Here is a track from the artist :
Frank Lucas Jr. “Business Man” (Produced by Gooch)
Check Frank Jr’s myspace page.
A few interviews: sixshot.com and nobodysmiling.com and hiphopdx.com
In promotion of the new Oasis album, go drink some free booze tonight at the Professors Loft located at 14th St and 2nd Ave. Two different openbars, the listening is from 9-10 with Giveaways all night.
